    Let me get this straight.

VPS - A computer you don't physically have access to. You can install programs such.

Dedicated - A server which you own or rent. Do you get FTP access or can you use it like a VPS (like use it as a regular computer)

If so, wheres the best places to get one?

    I'm in the 10-25 a month budget.

vpsland.com is pretty decent, and a VPS currently adds up to only $8 bucks with their 50% promo.

Gigenet has some awesome deals right now, go to their site and click specials. You can get $100/month off of an 8-core dedicated server...thats damn good if you ask me. Their support is good too.

If you get an un-managed VPS or dedicated with linux you can install a VNC server so you can remote-desktop the server. Or, if you get windows you can connect using the built-in remote desktop.
