VPN in killing private proxy connection. How to fix?

What's the point of using both proxies and VPN? I don't get it. Both do the same job if you just want to change your IP. So disable VPN if you want to use proxies and vice-versa.

i just tried, i also have cyberghost, although i used a proxy configured with firefox+foxyproxy, the proxy isn't getting overridden by cyberghost
do you need to use opera by all means?

You mean he is doing illegal things by "no good"?
LOL if that is the case, no proxy in the world or VPN can help him. Not shitty ones at least.

Well no. Not up to no good. I'm a bit of a proxy noob so please excuse my ignorance.
I use the VPN to cover uTorrent and all of my secondary accounts that I run my iMacros on in Firefox.
I use Opera for all of my important accounts that I want to keep safe. Also my bank account needs one connection from one location near me otherwise it locks me out... It would just be easier to have one separate private connection for this.

I have Firefox running 24/7 for my iMacros scripts. That's more of an automation tool than a browser for me. I will get Chrome and try that out. If that doesn't work I'll make a separate Firefox profile and try it.

well, i'm not sure why it's not working with opera, but as a workaround you can always use different firefox profiles and run separate instances even simultaneously: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Opening_a_new_instance_of_Firefox_with_another_profile

are you using your private proxies with ip-auth ?
If so authenticate to the proxies the dedicated vpn ip (if you have a dedicated vpn with a static ip).
