Hello folks

Am not sure if this section is best suited as I could not find any other section to post. Mods can move but I badly need someone to help me to get a solution.

I wanted to start a VOD (Video on demand) / OTT subscription website

Well I can build a website (WordPress) but integrating with VOD / OTT websites (for hosting and transcoding videos) is a nightmare.

Can you suggest how do I start and whats the easiest way to get started ?

Looking for you replies

Thanks

Starting a VOD, OTT subscription platform sounds exciting, but yeah, the backend part (hosting, transcoding, DRM, etc.) can get complicated fast if you're trying to piece it all together manually.

If you're already comfortable with WordPress, that’s a good start for the front end. But when it comes to video delivery, you’ll need a reliable VOD backend that handles:

Video hosting & CDN delivery

Transcoding to different resolutions

DRM & content protection

Subscription management

Multi-device playback support

Instead of trying to connect together different services (like AWS Media Convert, Vimeo OTT, etc.), you might want to look into VPlayed. It’s a white-label OTT/VOD platform that handles pretty much everything — from video hosting, monetization, and transcoding, to building your own branded apps (web, mobile, smart TV).

They also offer integration options with WordPress or can provide a full standalone solution if you outgrow WordPress later.

If you already have a WordPress website, the easiest and most scalable solution would be to integrate with a white-label OTT platform like VPlayed, Muvi etc. These platforms handle everything for you from secure video hosting and adaptive streaming to subscription management, paywalls, and analytics.
