Looking for a reliable feature rich virtual machine software. What do you guys reccomend based on experience? Looking to run several instances of software on seperate internet connections for each instance. Will like just use xp as the OS for the virtual machines my main OS now is windows 7 ultimate 64 bit.

VMware. Another one I recommend is Qemu, since it is open source and can be run without kernel modules or drivers.

Thank you. Which of the 2 do you think is more reliable?

VMware period.
Used it, satisfied with it.

vmware is nice, you can easily connect usb stuff into it and works great, also easy to switch between normal computer and Virtual machine.

Thanks guys. If I were not mobile I would + rep you all right now.

If you plan to plant your virtual machines on dedicated servers and such where you don't have control of kernel, try qemu as well. You will be suprised how versatille this little program is. On the other hand, if you want stability and don't plant to move from your desktop, use vmware.

I'm using VirtualBox on a dedicated server and it's great. I also like VMWare but I've only used it on computers I have physical access to with a graphical interface. I went with VirtualBox because I didn't want to figure out how to set up VMWare without a GUI.

I actually made a post about the install here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/123807-saving-money-dedicated-windows-servers-virtualbox.html

I think everyone will just tell you that whatever they've used before is good because no one here does large enough virtualization projects to really stress any available option.. or at least, most of us don't.

I use vmware and absolutely love it. I have multiple vm's that I use for different purposes. I also use it on my mac to run windows apps. Although I have not used the others that you mentioned, but I have heard nothing but good things about vmware.

I remember I used Vmware when I was doing PPI and it was the best. Most people recommend vmware as it is very easy to use it and you can drag'n'drop files from your's system to the virtual.

I currently use Virtual Box. Sun publishes updates often. Its quite reliable and fast.
Check it out, its only 30 mins to install it with WinXP
