    157 kbps x 200 MB = 25 hours. Who knew? :)

I was booted into Vista Ultimate and needed to burn some utils to a CD quick to hand to a friend that was heading out. RomanEmperor takes sooo long to open, I figured I'd just do a dragndrop onto the drive. Always worked like a charm in XP, right? Quick and dirty. Even with all of Vista's problems how could they break THAT?? Well, they did.

200 MB in RomanEmporer would have burned in less than 5 mins. In XP, maybe 10. I dropped the clump of dirs onto the (blank disk loaded) drive and it took 5 mins for the status box to show up, then the first copy notice said "50 mins remaining". Nothing else running, fresh boot, new internal burner. The the burn time kept expanding until I just had to take a screenshot. 28 hours was the max.

It didn't take 20 hrs but still it was a ridiculous amount of time, maybe 40 mins. I was reading a book at the time so I didn't mind the wait, but still.

Frankly, I am appalled, aghast, shocked, outraged, alarmed, dismayed, horrified and offended! Thank you WordFlood ;)

I think it's more like YOU fail ;)

Service packs fix issues. And technically SP2 was out about a month and a half earlier than general availability.

You made it sound like another diss to Vista. I kind of get pissed off sometimes.
