On my 2 sites I have right at the top :KEYWORD Article or KEYWORD Article directory blah blah..

Pretty much right at the top, saying that this is an article... then I have my 1 square ads**nse block before the article..

I just had a thought. If these people are coming in to buy something and they see article right off the top.... you think they just hit the back button?

Should I somehow(i dont know how) make it look like i'm s*elling products or that I'm some sort of store or something?

Just wondering if these people that are looking to buy, see that its an information site and say NOPE, back button..

Any tips on this? I'm getting low ctr..

Hmmm, well I haven't really got any statistics on hand, but the last leg of business seminars I attended at business re:fresh suggested that alot of people online don't stop researching up until the moment of purchase (which would tend to imply an article wouldn't really be such a bad thing...).
That said they did also suggest that most of these people already knew EXACTLY where they were going to be purchasing from when they start researching, and are pretty difficult to sway from that choice.

I think articles and reviews won't really detract from your sales if that is the case, but I tend to take those seminars with a huge pinch of salt.
