Hi can anyone explain me how virustotal works. I know its virus free when its 0/42 (0/random number)

What about numbers like 1/43, 2/43 . Does it mean it has virus ?

Sorry if its a noob question but I want to know because Kaspersky says file is clean  :D

Virustotal takes a file and scans it with multiple different AV engines. if it says 0/42 it means its clean, anything above 0 means that a virus engine has detected a virus (if its 1 or 2 its usually just a false positive)
