Ever since yesterday the internet has been slow for me.

I think I might have got a virus or maybe its my internet problems with BT or maybe its Firefox?

I did a system restore and with Explorer its really great again but Firefox really slow and does not load sometimes.
My network sharing centre was on I found so switched it off.
been surfing for ladies and I think I got a virus but not sure.

Anyway I use Firefox with download helper for video which I find if fantastic and I cant do without Firefox video download helper

So if any other people got a problem as Firefox recently updated new version then please post.

However as I say I did a system restore and its stil same problem apart from Explorere which has returned to great again.

System restore was a full format (erase disk) or just that registry restore-type thing?

Play it safe - wipe the drive.

First....stop looking at midget porn! ;)

But seriously, you should run hitman pro, malwarebytes, hijackthis (if you know what you are doing), and your normal virus scan on full. Good rule of thumb is: If you think you have a virus...you do

Beyond that, I have lots of issues with firefox. I am a web developer and have a bunch of different plugins installed and I have found that certain plugins don't play nice with each other or new version of firefox.

Try disabling the plugins and see if that helps, another thing you can try is changing the default theme to something else (sometimes the firefox theme can get corrupted). If it is the plugins make sure you have gotten the most recent versions...

    Hope this helps...

I have so many add ons and plug ins on firefox it's become a resource hog.
I only use it for working, chrome and opera are far quicker, check your task
manager and see how much memory firefox is using.

CCleaner is just as deadly if you dont choose the right stuff right?

I am not too keen on it
Explorer works real fast now its just Firefox timing out or pages real slow loading

    1. use a better AV, like NOD32 or Kaspersky
    2. scan your system with Hitman Pro & Malwarebytes
    3. if the problem still persists, you should consider to backup all your important data, format your HDD and reinstall the OS

then how the fcuk you have a virus/malware now most possibly?!
system restore is not removing viruses, jeez

all the programs i mentioned above have fully working trial versions, can't hurt to try/use them!
and do not edit the registry if you're clueless about it, this is exactly when you'll need the system restore...

is it really that hard to understand, if you have an infection, you should run a system scan for viruses/malwares?

you can also check the running processes and if you find anything unusual, suspicious which is not used to run, kill the process or if you can't do that: use Security Task Manager to quarantine it, but be careful what you quarantine!
