    Hi,
I am working on a website to promote services for different prices. A seller may be able to offer services for $5 , $50 or $200 and a buyer may accept it and work and get things done. This would be a combination of different sites like Odesk, fiverr and freelancer. I am looking for strategies to get the word out when the site is live. Any suggestions? and anyone can help promote it? Cost?
I can't post the site link since its not ready yet.
    thank you.
    Marc:D

I'm not trying to drag you down or something but its quite hard nowadays to make popular a fiverr copy cat. If you don't have something unique to attract others your site will fail like the other thousands of Freelancer, Odesk, Fiverr copy cat sites out there.

Thanks, It does have a unique settings that no one has, new perspective and new innovations. Yes, you are right, creating a copycat work work, why would one wants to go to a copycat while you can use the original one. Found so many flaws in the original ones and mine will give users more flexibility and more money for their services and not steal all their revenue and talents. I think its fair to appreciate what people can offer and reward them in a nicer way. Am I right?

Thank you for the encouragements. I am doing my best and believing in me because I am doing a great thing and trying to provide more money for their services instead of stealing it. And thank you.

The only thing I could suggest is filling it with loads of fake orders and reviews from fake customers / sellers. This way when sellers land on your site they will not think they are wasting their time as they will see people are selling things on your site.

OP, I take it your site name is your Profile name.

I just took a look and you need to put up a "Coming Soon" page or something while you build your site.
Add an email sign up form and you can collect leads and email them when the site is ready.
Once this is up you can even start building backlinks and social sharing.

As Rokebono has pointed out it is a crowded marketplace so I think you will find it a struggle.

    Good Luck

Oh one more suggestion, I would not go for a Fiverr clone if that is what you intend. I think a lot of people will be put off the minute they see a copy of Fiverr.

Same goes for me. However, if you are willing to pursue this website and/or is willing to put up money to get the site up and rolling, you may want to consider W130SN's and mickyfu's advice. Get paid reviews from top review sites. Advertising is another good option.

OP If gigfreeks.com is your chosen domain name you're doing something wrong. In the freelance marketplace "Gig" is already over used and sends most people to think at Fiverr so most will think that its another Fiverr copy cat.

Also I see you're a firm believer in "not stealing revenue...". Most people would preffer to give $1/gig to Fiverr and have loads of orders than giving you 20cents/gig and have no order. What do you say about this?

I didn't say that I would give take any less than a $1 but more they sell, less % We would take. I guess we have to wait and see when it comes out. Anyhow, I think I was given some great idea just by posting a question. for that, I thank you. We all know that there is no such thing as a saturated market. You don't know how you could get famous, fiverr like site is over-saturated by people offering services and sometimes, its hard to chose one over the other. so. I guess few people might be successful on different sites. Thanks for the reply again.;)
