does anyone know how i can view a website that is on my virtual dedi hosting before i change the nameservers on my domain?
i believe there is a way to resolve the domain on my local host to the ip of the server to view the site but i have no idea where to start any help would be appreciated.
Im trying to transfer a site from godaddy shared to my new virtual dedi so obviously i want to test the site before it goes live on the new server

This makes no sense. It wont look any different from a different IP. It may however look differetn if your ********* server is not set up with the same config. things like mod rewrite and your vhosts rules may not be in place, why not just migrate it to a sub domain on the new server test it out, then take it live?
