According to a graph I have seen if you are in position number one in Google you will receive approx 36% of the clicks.

However in Google traffic estimator my keyword is showing 14000 monthly searches and saying that my daily clicks would be 36 (at the number one spot) which works out at 1080, which is less then 10%.

    So which is it?

I have seen multiple graphs, some saying number one spot should get more then 50%. I would rely on analytics as I think every keyword and every niche is going to be different. Long tail keywords are more likely to be clicked the first few spots while a broader term, I am sure the clicks get more distributed evenly.

Google estimated clicks for no one in adword ads not organic.

It is actually 56, 13 and 10 for the first 3 spots on "Organic Search Results".

Those are accurate click percentages but the traffic number is not always reliable.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Thanks,

I dont understand why the traffic estimates are not accurate, surely G has this data so if should be 100% accurate?
