I uploaded some videos I made. They basically were a picture of the artist and then had the song play. It was a basic video that I was going to use with ringtones.

But like a minute after I posted it they removed it because someone said all or some of the song was copyrighted.

Is there any way to avoid this?

Thanks

So is there any way to promote ringtones with all this copyright stuff?

I have read all the major threads and they say to download other peoples videos. Well how do they get their videos past the copyright crap...

There are a ton of videos like I made for a ton of different songs...

There are a lot of people on youtube flagging videos anymore. It's like it's turning into Craigslist.

There are certain accounts on youtube, say "record companies", that although you may be downloading and stealing their material, they still let you do it because they want people to see their videos.

UMG is one good example. Just type "UMG" into youtube and you can pretty much steal any of their videos and reupload it. They'll send you a notice and that's about it.

This is one way around the copyright problem. Not all accounts tho, will let you do it... some will auto-fail the video upon uploading it.

Makes you want to beat the ever living sh*t out of someone, doesn't it?

I would love to be face to face with a serial flagger!

UMG was the company or whatever that had my video removed....

UMG let you use their material because they let you accept that they show ads with your vids.

So you do all the work and they get the traffic....:(

When your doing ringtones try to find a remix of the song your promoting. Or take the song and remix it yourself.
Like said before in this thread, take a couple of parts from the song and let it fade into each other smoothly.

YT uses an algorithm to identify copyrighted material so by using the original song they catch you instantly.

I have noticed, lately y0utube has been deleting a lot of copyrighted stuff. Never was too big of a y0utube fan, now I just won't visit them anymore :p
