If I have a 8 minute video, how long does the viewer have to watch it for me to be given credit? Does it work out to half of a second for each second of footage, or half of the length of the video?

The jury seems to be out on this and I think YT changes it on a semi-regular basis. Whenever I can, I always try to get my videos watched until the end, just to be safe. If you're low on credits on one of the free services or if 8 mins is too much to pay for per view, I'd recommend doing at least half of the video for it to count. One of the guys who runs the free services may have a bit more insight into this if they care to chime in. But, that's what I'd recommend based on my years of YT marketing. ;)

Yeah, this is about right. However instead of half, go a little over half so if your video is 8 minutes got for 4:50 or 5:00 mark
