I posted a short clip of a game to reddit and it was on the front page with 1k upvotes and I got 30k+ views on the video. I expected maybe 30 subs, also I had another one of my videos suggested and it got only 100 extra views, was surprised.

I would appreciate some tips on how to get more subs from these clips.

    1. I have 2 more clips that would probably be just as popular, should I put them at the beginning of my next video (normally do commentary of that one specific game)?
    2. If the video was 10 minutes and people clicked my reddit link for the specific 25 seconds part of the video would it hurt me in someway since most are only watching 5% of the video?
    3. If the same video was monetized how much would reddit users care?
    4. My 4 videos have 250 views (I put them on reddit too) and I have 20 subs. Would having a successful video increase the chances of my other videos being suggested and/or higher search rankings?

    1. You can try adding the videos on starting but maybe that can lower down your watch rate more. Since someone has clicked on your video to watch the content but they are made to watch something else.

    2. Yeah if you have less watch rate then your video will pushed back on youtube ranking.

    3. I dont think they would care too much

    4. For videos to appear on suggested tab you will have to tweak things in tags and description. Also I dont think other videos will have effect from a very successful video.

Okay thanks for the advice. I think I will put the clip in the video still but post it to reddit so they expect a 10 min video not 30 seconds.

Also if I change the tags, title and description days after a video has been uploaded is it less likely to rank (for those or any tags in general) then if it had those final tags to begin with?
