Hi. I am getting ready to break into a niche. The only problem is do I do a 90% video blog with 10% text, or the other way around, or 50/50. My niche has little to talk about, my sites will be informative and video is the best way to go. It is a 'you have to watch to learn how to do' kind of thing. Is this good for SEO going only video, or is there a way to work around this? Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

What I try to do with video sites is create a page for the particular video and then a "discussion" page where you can go into detail about that particular video. (SEO). If that's not really an option then it's not really that big of a deal. As long as your videos contain some kind of description you'll be good. You can focus on backlinks and other aspects.

Thanks. I think I will have another page explaining each video. Have other pages as well like "About" and "Guides" which should increase SEP substantially. I am working on a linkwheel to this main video hub page and will be using adsense. I also plan on branching off with just a text version of the site with its own linkwheel as well as links to the video site.

Lotsa wordy content on a page is what G loves to index. User experience may dictate videos, but SERPS are a bit of a different story.

    n2zen,

    - Is what you are saying is to start off with a regular text blog instead of using video because lack of SEO? If so I agree. I am fairly
new to SEO, am very technical, but doing something for the first time is never as easy as it seems. I have already run into a few problems just setting up the blog. I think it will be easier to go full text, and write some original keyword rich articles to put up on it. Maybe some form of Whitehat autoblogging on the same subject, and build a linkwheel for it. (To begin with) But I do have some advice for other new Business Marketers.
Just take it easy. Read MUCH, but take it slow. Don't rush into anything and expect immediate results. This is actually day 3 for me of just learning and trying to get something up. I have a host and a few domain names, and getting WordPress up but learning the plugins, trying new things, and messing around with video themes that aren't plug n play. In the mean time have had no luck with ClickBank trying to sell a product. I have ClickBank thats set up with Adsense because I got a free $50 coupon for it when signing up with hostgator. Have had 80 clicks the past 2 days but no purchases. So yeah thats pretty much where I am at now. Good luck everyone!

I would say that you can do a video and then you can add a transcript of you video under it on the same page. This way the search engines will read what you have and they will rank you for the text.

If you can't get all the videos transcribed just repeat the main points you say in the video in the text form. This will be a little more work but it will pay off in the future.
