Audio and video calling is the next move in Elon Musk’s plan to turn X into a “one-stop shop” “all in one,” the ever-evolving social media owner wrote in a message that some users have an “early version” of the feature.
At the moment, audio and video calling is only available for iOS users. It is available for both people in your address book (if it is linked to your X account) and the people you are following.
There is also a toggle that only verified users (the ones who pay $8 a month) can call you. Some users, including those with the important blue tick, reported that they had not received this feature, even after receiving an update.
This suggests that this feature is still in the A/B testing stage. There's no button to make the call, so technically the function isn't working. X is just laying the ground work.
