Very shady idea...

I just listed an iPhone on CL and had a couple hundred responses from it. While I was responding I noticed how many people included their phone numbers. This made me think - Ringtones. I've never done any ringtone offers so I'm guessing you have to accept something on your phone, but aside from that and a few legal issues that may arise it may get a few sales.

no, you have to confirm a pin number(text message), phone numbers wont solve that

Why not get setup with a nice CPA offer that will give folks a ringtone or two in exchange for a zip submit and then send them the following:

"Thanks for your interest in my iPhone. I'm sorry to say that I've already sold it, but here are a few free ringtones (http://blah_blah) for reading my ad. Would you like for me to contact you when I get another phone for sale?"

Would that count as an opt-in ?

How many states/what states did you place the ad?
