    Hey :)

It might be shock for some of you but I'm definitely utter crap in this tech stuff.

Here it is... lot of my job is made around editing some videos with Camtasia and uploading it on few video hosting sites. As fast as I can do it, as much success I make. My Internet line upload speed is 1Mbps only and being able to upload stuff at higher speed would be crucial for me.

So, the question is - can I use advantage of some VPS with remote desktop connection to install Camtasia there and upload those videos at higher speed or I'd still be limited with my Internet speed. So, I'd connect to VPS with RDC, produce videos there, go to sites and upload them. Would upload speed be my own ISP's one or server's one? If server's one what are the speeds I could get on rented VPS?

    Thanks :)

When you use a vps, your ISP's bandwidth will be used only to access the VPS. If you are downloading and uploading videos on the vps there's no way it would affect your PC's internet. Using a vps is definitely an advantage unless you have any color sensitive work or very frequent changes to be done. You can expect anywhere between 10-100mbps upload speed as it depends on your service providers.

That's great, so in theory I'm good. Have to test that now. Thanks :)
