I have a website where my average CTR for the last couple months is at 1.1%. I've messed with all different types of ads and locations (setup the same as my other sites getting 10-15%CTR) and came to the conclusion there are just not enough relevant ads to display.

The site is arts/crafts targeting people that are looking for ideas and examples on how to make things. What would you use to monetize this type of stuff? About the only thing I can think of is selling Amazon books on the related subjects. Thoughts?

you got your ads in the right place and are you using the big square ad? type in heatmap into google images and you will see heatmaps showing where people look when they open a page. Your ads should be in the red bits.

Yup my ads are in the right places. Its just frustrating this site is getting about 250UV a day and I'm lucky if I get 1 click.

Also I should note this is one of those MNS built by BTB in the service thread where he states all the keywords are low competition. I guess with no competition no one is spending the money on adwords therefore no relevant ads on my site.

What's your Adwords competition value? I'm going to assume that its very low (under 0.33). You won't have much relevant adsense ads showing up and in turn get a very low CTR. Try targeting high adwords competition (you can check using GAKT btw) and check the top 10 results on whether there's many ads showing up or not

ok, so you are getting a 1.1% click through rate? is this correct?...then you are exactly where you need to be...a 1% click through rate is fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a 10-15% click through rate is astronomical and not normal...1% is considered very good...

you need to change your expectations, i don't know who told you about a 10-15% click through rate, i have never heard of a click through rate like that...

1% is crap compared to my other sites. No one told me about a 10-15% CTR, Ive experienced it myself. Right now I'm running 5 sites with adsense on them and I just checked the all time CTR:

    Site 1 - 10.4%
    Site 2 - 14.6%
    Site 3 - 6.5%
    Site 4 - 6.9%

And Site 5, the one I'm talking about now 0.74%
