Are you sure that the competition is very little? Most of the people make this mistake. They can't see the competition. Have you searched for the exact match search result? Please verify these things.thanks

Probably a content issue. How much do you have, is it 100% original, etc...

I think you consider the competition of keyword.. This is only not enough, we have to see the number of search results also for which keyword you chose.
But i dont know the exact reason for your site's drop. Try to keep updating your site regularly with fresh contents. And use long tail, less competitive with more search results for backlinking.

Also check allintitle: Keyword, allinurl: keyword to see if it's truly easy to rank. I like to pick the ones that are under 75k pages indexed.

thing is Google doesn't care a lot about just keywords now. It cares more about content and the quality of content. You need to provide visitors with some "experience" and that way your site will rank higher.

    Thats very true.

I have seen a lot of people make the mistake of checking a keyword for competion using SEMRUSH, that shows no traffic and or no competion, BUT if they checked it using Adwords keyword tool it will return low competiton and or traffic.
