I have a domain which has the - symbol in it as well as an ending s and its expiring soon.

I noticed that I can get the same name w/o the - but I will not have the s at the end either :(

should I just keep mine or switch or does that even matter?

I was told "-" hurts your rankings and if it does, I was also told loosing the S at the end also hurts rankings if people are searching with it there.

    example:
    current domain. xxxxxxxx-yyy's
the one I can get xxxxxxxxyyy

    thanks in advanced

Its a dash right? Its totally OK if you can properly optimize it, it will give you good output.

My instance, I think the - is better then not having it, someone has the same site name as mine but they dont have the dash, I am on second page, they dont even show up in first few pages, google tries to force into separating the words, plus I am not even sure that the s matters when ppl seach, I search with and without the s and my site only drops 2 spots w/o the s in the search. so I will just keep mine the way it is.

something to consider, since most people I see talking about it rather not have a - I think google ignores it as an empty space.

I actually had to search their full site domain it with the dotcm in order for it to show up at all
