very high Gas fees

Hi.I received some SHR token to myetherwallet
So i try to convert them to SPI coin in uniswap
but the problem is swap gas fee is about 0.04 ETh.
So i need to transfer at least double of the ETH because high ETH transfer fee
Why is that or is this normal?

These fees are joke.... why people even use this high fee coins...for example XRP only charge 0.1XRP as a fee

When the market is very nervous, the fees go up

Eth will soon transition to eth version 2 and these fees will be negligible. At the current rates the miners are basically stealing your money.
