I have been looking up information all day about the BlackBerry Storm 9500.

I have seen websites offering it for $300 - $700
There were 22 bids at the price of $660 on Ebay

The Verizon website lists the phone at $250. $200 WITH a contract renewal.

I found a wholesaler selling this phone for
$280 for 3-6 units
$250 for 7-12 units

To me this seems like a rip off if people can get this phone from Verizon for $250. Why in the world would people bid up to $660 for this phone? Has anyone been tracking this item? If so please shed some light on this. btw the wholesaler is selling this phone unlocked.

Not 100% sure, but it might be because with Verizon you have to sign a 2/3 year contract and the phones on ebay don't have contracts and are unlocked.

Here is the reasons why people buy this for that high, I hate it when people scream rip off right away without researching why.

Say the Storm, bold iPhone is $299 That is with a 3 year contract or 2 year, and also for HARDWARE upgrades.

Now ehen ordering from ANY Phone company, add:

$39 administration fee
$20 x each month you cancel your phone subscription maximum $1500-200 fee.

So now you can add

$299 + 200 cancel fee + 39 admin =$638 just before they can make profit.

By the way, who is this distributor, Id like to buy 1000 units from him... price is too good to be true.

or...it may be an unlocked version from overseas....

the us version is for verizon only :(

agkfal,

i only said it "seems" to be a ripoff. As far as I know you do not get charged a cancellation fee if you are extending your contract for an additional 2-3 years.

I'm working out some stuff with the distributor, as soon as I come to a resolution I will PM you.

I said PEople, I dint say you specifically =)
Also while your working out things with your distributor, try and also find out where the items are coming from. The best overseas places are UK, Germany, Norway, Swiss.. HK and China seem to be full of allot of fakes.

Also, one good thing is, if you can get your hands on the True Unlocked fome overseas, you can make an extra $200-300.

well, i dont need thousands of them - but is someone can get me an unlocked one that i can work with my beloved ATT - pm me. i want one :)

I've found a wholesaler that offered $250 for 3 units... but I dont trust them, they seem like they are scammers. Anyone know a good one that I can trust?

alot out there is fake... the wholesaler that offers 3 pieces unlocked for the price one thats is locked and combined with a contract... well if its to good to be true... or is it 250 a pop?

I was on traydkee and emailed about 10-15 companies. Each of them wanted me to send cash through western union or send a bank transfer. I was interested in purchasing 10-20 units and I cannot bring myself to just send $2,000-$4,000 to a foreign country without knowing who the phuck these people are. It'd be alot easier to just send someone over there and handle the middleman work.

DON`T send your money...

The risk for being f..ked is to big. If your still want to test one of those companies, say that you just want to buy one sample unit from them.

be very careful...

I have been looking for these phones aswell. I have came across similar offers to yours. I don't trust them so I asked my contact in China to check out the supplier. He can't even get ahold of them. I would be very weary of purchasing blackberry storms from China. I believe most if not all are scams. These phones are just too new.

I'll tell you what I am confused about,,,, I seen the blackberry storm propaganda marketing showing people how amazing it was to touch the screen and all the revolutionary things it can do.......Excuse me but I have a Samsung Instinct that seems to do everything that the storm does......Blackberry is a day late and a dollar short on this one. Their becoming the General Motors of Cell phones...

Since Western Union and bank transfer offer no protection in case they don't deliver or are not as advertised then you should not use them. ONLY use those methods with someone you trust absolutely.
