Why do you need to do that? I have used them for years and never been asked to do that!

Why not just call them then?

I was asked for verification too, i think they do that for customers outside USA/EU/JP. I sent them what they asked for and they verified my account in the same day.

A month ago I bought a plan from hostgator and they also asked me to send them a scan government ID or passport but I have none of them that why I just ask a refund and bought a plan from another host that won't ask any verification.

Just send your ID or just photoshop. Next they will ask you to take a picture with your ID next to your face. If you don't want them to see your face. just tell me them that you don't have any camera and you are in hurry to set up the site or else refund. Believe me they approved me using photoshoped id.

Its probably just part of their anti fraud measures. Every order gets assigned a certain score that shows how likely the purchase was a fraudulent one. I use the same system in my hosting business. The ones that do get a high fraude score usually get screened manually like its the case with you.
This is nothing personal just based upon statistics of country of origin etc.

i opened my account on 2008 and on that time they asked me to provide me CC details or proof of address while i am living in asian countries. Only one time they ask to you about these details after that no more problem.
