Hi all. Just wandering what you guys think of .CO domains.

Ive registered a bunch of dictionary word .CO's as a punt to see if they pay off someday in the future.
With the release of tons of new domain extensions soon maybe .CO along with .NET, ORG etc may become more valuable.

I saw several .co ranking but as the supply of .com get lower the .com .net and .org will still be more valuable. The new string will diversify the pool domains. But there are plenty of TLD's at this moment

i think when all the new extensions come out it will make .co and other non .com extensions less valuable.

I'm ranking .co and .me style TLD's fine. It depends what you're selling it for. People want a domain for one of two reasons:
1. Branding factor (how easy it is to remember, and relevant to a user)
2. SEO factor (EMD's have always been easier to rank, regardless of TLD).

SEO Value is still there, not as much as a dot com, but lets face it, a .co in a major niche is still going to be very valuable. As if the guy owning http://www.loseweightfast.co isn't getting a tonne of offers to buy his domain?

.co's will only become valuable if real companies use them, not just aff marketers. Real companies use .com, organizations use .org, and .net use to be more popular... so they have value. Companies are starting to use .co, and it's technically better than .com in that it means the same thing but is shorter. So it has that going for it.

A whole bunch of wacky extensions are about to come out, and some successful startups will start to use them, making people more comfortable with the idea of non-.com extensions.

The only value for .co I can think of is to treat them as mistyped .com :)

I think .co's are becoming pretty authoritative. There are some major companies starting to use them for branding like O.co. Also G seems to be giving them pretty good rankings.

I think .Com is better, because most people use .Com domain, while co represent a spaceflight region like .co.uk etc.

They do work. You can rank them. No domain extension will ever be as popular as .Com.
