Just wanted to have a vent. I can't seem to catch a break with IM, I've been in the game for over half a year now and I've cut a loss of just under $400, (not withstanding all the countless hours, effort and sleepless nights) mostly from trying to build email lists, the damage would be a lot higher had I actually paid for everything as opposed to downloading cracked versions etc.
All these methods people post up stating they've made $5000+ per month have just lead my down the garden path to no where, although it must be acknowledged that I've gained knowledge from everything I've tried and researched, I'm just not making money with anything.
The only thing that seems to be somewhat successful, albeit quite underpaying is 'promoting dating sites', but this is not sustainable and my profits are getting lower each month.
I'm so determined to make something work, it's just such a kick in the guts with methods that seem to take weeks just in the planning and set up phases only to see no results at the end of it, or for just one component of it to be beyond my knowledge or resources. I really try to pick methods that seem within my capabilities and have a sound framework.
Maybe I'm just having one of those days where the frustration is really getting to me and motivation is just at an all time low and there just doesn't seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
I just needed to get that out there.

I ignore all those WSO's coming out because they steered me in the wrong direction for a long time.

Now I am following a simple mantra - "build quality sites, get links" and I supplement with twitter and Facebook, monetize with adsense and CPA.

Site building is not one of my strengths, lol, though I wish it was. I've always seen it as a very daunting area of IM with too many variables in balance without any real monetisation in the short term, however this is all based solely on my ignorance. I was all set to start building micro-niche blogs fuelled by blog farms but the more I delved into the methodology the more out of depth it seemed for me.
May I ask how your sites are modelled? Are they set us as blogs, information sites, online shops etc. Are they based on personal interests or just whatever profitable niche you find at the time?

    Cheers for your reply mate.

one giant site (like an article directory) covering most broad niches, 1 simple adsense block in each post and CPA banner ads related to the niches.
