Maybe I am out of place on this a bit. Maybe not

The new revolution themes are free right?, but try to install one that is missing a piece and post it on the revolution forum? Hell no!

First you cant post unless you register, then verify, Then when you find the area that pertains to your theme it tells you that to even read it that you have to register AGAIN as a PAID member!

So, then you find a general place to post that the theme is missing something and get told by the designer himself that you can't post a question about those themes unless it's in the "appropriate" area which of course is the PAID area.

    FUCK HIM.

HOW the fuck are you supposed to install something that is (according to the wordpress control panel) missing something and get help from anyone if you can't post anywhere without paying. Not even to other free users? What a crock of shit.

I am not paying whatever the hell he wants- so i can have him tell me that there is a missing step, or i should do this or that - or some kind of "secret" that should have been posted originally in the "read me" file.

The damn thing should be complete to begin with.

I personally feel scammed. I'd rather just pay for the stupid thing and get the regular help rather than get fucked around with and forced to sign up for an entire forum.

I think Brian Gardner is playing games, He's hiding the download links where you just about can't find them and making it LOOK like you have to sign up for support to even download ( which you don't), then making it impossible to get any feed back even from other free members to trouble shoot ANYthing.

Apparently he is all about the money and thats it.

He just lost me and anything that I want to do with his fucked up themes. He thinks his shit doesn't stink and is the only gig in town I guess.

    END VENT

Here is in an obvious and simple solution:

Find another theme! If this guy doesn't give you the technical support you need/require, it is time to press on! There are plenty other designers out there that have outstanding designs that are well supported in reference to technical issues. I don't mean to sound rude or blatant but you have already spent too much time messing around with this ass clown.

    i agree with delmages,

but if ever you really wanted your revo theme worked out, try searching g0?gle, there are plenty of other sites, blog posts that have discussions of almost all stuff.

He announced a couple of months ago that he was switching from paid themes to free themes with OPTIONAL support. He said they would be charging for that, and this type of model is pretty normal among WP theme designers (like the Woo collection).

I have downloaded all of the themes and installed them. There is nothing missing from any of them, so I am not sure what you are saying is missing.

You do need one plugin for a couple of themes and that is available for download on the revolutiontwo site and it does have free support in the forums as well.

Yes, you don't get any help with customization or any technical support for the themes unless you pay for a membership. I see nothing wrong with that as I don't need help with the themes, but I think his themes are worth it and will probably eventually pay for a lifetime membership.

I'm already on to other themes and will not be playing with his anymore but it pisses me off you can't even talk to other members about a theme without paying. seems screwed up. He literally locked my posts about a general inquiry (nothing high tech or customization related)and told me i had to sign up for any help. I know its free now but hell, the one place to go to to talk about his themes is his site and he makes it impossible to post unless you are not asking for anything in particular.

There WAS a piece missing and I have been emailed it but now i'm too pissed off to use it. If you need something plugged in apparently you also have to pay to be told so. :brick:

    Thanks guys

The forums are basically the membership part. So if he allowed discussion of the themes in the forums then why pay for a membership at all? There are a lot of scripts and sites that require membership to post in support forums.

Which theme was "missing" a part?

I had no luck installing a couple of the themes also. Why not throw up a blog, using a Revolution theme of course, with install directions for all the R Two themes and monetize it with some banners for other WP theme designers? I am sure these themes will be popular and 1000's of others will have the same questions. Their servers are so slow so you know they are getting alot of traffic.
