    Hi there,

Just want to start this thread to discuss about the real value of social signals...

    First, there are 2 types:

    -Basic and traditional "shares/likes/+/tweets/pins"
    and
-more elaborated and diversified signals using services like Syndwire/FCS networker
where you can automatize the posting on different platforms like blogger, tumblr,
    wordpress etc...

SEO gurus are advocating the use of services like syndwire etc.

The debate is about which type of social signal has the most value ?
or we have to do both types for every website ?

And have you guys experienced significant boost when using social signals ?

Social media signals mean a lot. You can get more ranking or rating through more likes or shares etc.

From my experience one test with fake share/like/pins/tweet in drip feed :
Nice boost #12 > #4 in few days for easy keywords 4400 MS USA, but when you stop to send it, 10 days later the rank drop to #8, so I think it is beneficial if once arrived in the top 5 people still share the article naturally

I like social links of all kinds. As long as the social platform is of high quality and not spammy. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and so on.

I do not see anyway Google, Bing etc can ignore social media when it comes to rankings. Yes it is only 1 or a handful of signals but it has to be of vaule. I am sure likes, retweets and genuine follows help because they show engagement in a similar way links give a vote of cofidence in websites. We already know that bounce rates, times spent and pages visited is in their algo too. It makes sense social media is playing a part in ranks. I know you can index links simply by posting links on Facebook even brand new groups, business pages will do this with ease.

Socials don't help rank directly much, they are just to make a site look more natural. So blasting thousands to a single page with no traffic defeats the advantage. Drip some diverse socials to T1 and they become somewhat useful.
