I recently paid to have my site submited to several directories. I noticed that alot of the directories are on the same IP. Is there any value in this at all?

Not really

Can give you maybe a temporary boost, but then it will settle.

Well, if you paid money for this service and someone built you backlinks from the directories on the same IP - then, congratulations, they screwed you! Ask for a refund!!

The best type of backlinks are the ones which are:

- inside real blog posts (naturally integrated into juicy unique content)
- on relevant sites
- on different IPs
- with diversified anchor texts

The best part is that you do not need to pay for these backlinks. Today there are communities where lots of blog owners are ready to republish your content without touching your backlinks.

With this type of backlinks you can target almost any keywords. For example, we recently have taken Google page 1 for a keyword with inanchor: over 3,000,000 direct link building competitors (in ~ 3 weeks).

I highly doubt that this type of results is possible with plain directory submissions.

Oh ye. I absoloutly agree with you dude. Backlinks from same ip is sh@t.

Backlinks -> page Rank and more frequent indexing from google, it would also improve your search engine ranking to some extent with rich keywords.
1. First use the best researched traffic keywords ( watch google trends)
2. Use Rss in your mail, this will help you to get indexed by google immly
3. Use comment Kahuna or other tools from member area to increase the traffic by commenting on other blogs.
4. Use PRstrom -> It really works... but dont over do it...

these are some of the ways to get some real traffic. Submitting to directories is good but not with the same ips..............

yes it's of somevalue. Othes are right about what make up good backlinks but int directories fill a niche and I wouldn't be worried. How many links and at what total cost ?

This one should work,,,RSS is the best way to hit at google and when the page gets indexed the only thing that we goto concentrate is on posting, this would get some decent organic traffic...that may be increased in even time by keeping the blog regularly updated via, auto-blogging or manual blogging...

How do you do this? How can you tell how many sites have your keyword in anchor text? I thought maybe this was a google query command, but I clearly don't know how to use it.

I have been buying links from a few different people here and it seems to be working and doesn't cost much. Can someone tell me the best way to verify/check your backlinks and the ips?

Yahoo Site Explorer to check backlinks. As far as their IP, I don't know an automated way of doing multiple URLs at a time. Maybe someone else does??
