I found a domain name that would fit well with my current business but don?t know how to value it.

The site itself has been deleted except a hand full of pages.
Over 5000BL yahoo, 200 shown in google. About half of these bl are from .edu
.gov type sites and the PR is still high.

The site had about 550 pages of content and many of the inbound links are still pointing to those pages so im going to have to spend money to have content written.

Anyway im having a little trouble knowing how to value this site. Recent traffic numbers are about 8k a month shown by compete.com but I don?t know how long the content has been missing.
The only thing im sure of is the backlinks will probably never be removed because there on old sites that don?t update there links..
    Any idea?s?
    Thanks

The value depend on what niche it is.

The niche is educational which normally isn't commercial. I have a business that is commercial so i think we could make use of the traffic. My thinking was, and maybe
somebody can point out errors in what im saying. I feel if i replace all the lost pages
with similar content that use to exist traffic would go right back up with Google and I would be able to funnel the traffic to an existing but very related website.

For now because most of the content was removed recent traffic has taken a nose dive but when checking backlinks there all still pointing to the site and its subpages.

Is that on namejet? My experience that I have mostly with them is that such domains sell anywhere between $2K to $8K but it really depends on the name, niche, etc. Unfortunately I am not familiar at all with the education niche.
