You Know, sometimes it's important to remember the basics.
I see lots of people charging off trying to compete in huge
markets without doing any kinda research at all.
Before I start on a new project there's a few things I like to
know...
1. Are people already spending money in the market?
The answer to that question can easily be found by doing a quick
search on Amazon.com, Ebay.com, Magazines.com and Googleshop.com
2. How much competition is there?
I usually check to see how many people are using AdWords, how
many competing sites there are in the SERPs and to see what's
been sold on Clickbank and CJ.
3. How difficult is it to break into the market?
Why shoot for a niche where you need to break your balls? I prefer
to find the niche markets where I can get onto page one of Google
without too much work!
I use the link popularity tool at Marketleap.com to see how many
backlinks the site at #10 has.
As long as I know that I can get more backlinks than that site relatively
quickly and easily, I get to work!
OK, now it's your turn to work smarter and not harder
