I'm not too familiar with this, soI was hoping I could get schooled by some of you. I have a moderately popular Youtube channel and I regularly upload. I've read that your new videos are promoted locally. So, if you live in Chicago, more people in Chicago are likely to see your video's thumbnail popup as a recommended video. Supposedly, this is one of the ways Pewdiepie got so big because he kept moving and traveling to other countries while continuing to make videos. I was wondering if you could use VPN's or Proxies to appear as though you're traveling and get a broader reach. Has anyone tried or considered this before?

Interesting theory,,,,maybe YT will make better views based on location.

or they are recording location first time you make channel?
