I have a theory that google may consider links that are in bold (using the <strong> tag) to bee a little more powerful than normal (non bold) links. At least on pages with high PR, with an in-content link.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

If the page had other external links, and only one of them was in bold, wouldn't it make sense that the link would be considered more important compared to the others?

I guess it is a nice touch of diversity, if nothing else.

And we all know (at least we all SHOULD know) that use the <strong> tag is great for onpage SEO...

    Thoughts?

Let's suppose your theory is correct.
In this case i would not use HTML but CSS (the font-weight CSS style property)

Why is that? The <strong> tag does the same thing, but with a little less control.

And most places that let you post links, wont let you use css, even if its inline css.

Heck, you are lucky if you can even use HTML in some cases :)

    Hi
I was talking about your own website (internal linking) of course.
