Using stock photos for Google authorship ?

    Anyone used stock photos of a person for Google authorship ? Like using it index next to your link on Google, anyone had problems with this?

    I've done this. The key is to find really old photos. Once you find good candidates, use tineye and google image search to see the results of images that aren't on a similar stock photo site. If other business websites aren't using the image, it's fairly safe to use.

    I change the image in pixlr with filters, change orientation, remove image data, etc., until the image comes up with no results at all from tineye, etc.

    I'll go to dreamstime, deposit photos, or photodune. When I find an image I like, I'll search and see if another site is using it, then just take it from there and make edits. You can use the G image search and find some used istock photos there but you gotta make sure you edit it good. Or, if I just need one good unused image, I'll buy the small resolution...about a buck.

    If you don't want a lot of attention to the pic, get an avg looking male or female. Not one that's too hot because people will start stalking the avatar.
