I have quite a few US based socks 5 proxy servers from a private source, but none of them let me post on craigslist. I use firefox with switch proxy and have java/javascript disabled, yet the infamous "you need an account to post..." message pops up.

I have also downloaded proxy firewall and told it to only let the proxy servers run through firefox and get the same result. I have literally tried atleast 50. If anyone could point out what I am doing wrong I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

You posting in the same geographical area as the proxies are from?

Im not 100% sure on that. I just know they are in the US. How does that work with craigslist? Do I need to post from a proxy in the same state?

Im not sure if CL is requiring you to match up IPs with location now... if so, wow!! Do some testing... try inside the state, then out, see if you're sticking.

Check them against a site like ip.cc, if you're posting to Los Angeles from Tacoma it's going to look fishy as hell.

I don't post on craigslist often, but it's an obvious security measure for them to take. I think I've heard about people being restricted by that sort of thing there before.

Ok so today I tested out some socks servers. I loaded up a socks server from Las Vegas and tried to post in Las Vegas and it didnt let me. I also tried the same thing for New Jersey with the same result. I used proxy firewall to restrict the browser to only use the proxy server as well. I wonder if all the socks servers ive used have all been blacklisted or something.

update: I tested some of my socks proxies on ip.cc and they are all showing up as highly anonymous/elite. They pass all the tests.

i am having the same problem... its so annoying.

whats the cheapest solution for these kinds of proxies?

I just forgot about proxy servers and moved to US based VPN services. VPNs allow you to use a different IP with pretty much all programs that connect to the internet. They are nowhere as cheap as proxies though.

I forgot to mention that you can post from different states if the ip address is clean.

1) Ip could be restricted to several cities and in other it will ask for PVA
2) Some ips are opened to every city in us
3) some ips will be shown opened but once you post CL will just ghost them

So i wish i could say theres an easy way to find out,but the best option is to test...

Hope it helps

It's usually based on what ISP your posting with, among other things. They are also requiring this randomly to random cities, sites and categories, sort of like a beta phase.

Also, if your posting with proxies that have been used to spam with they are being required to post through an account, and sometimes even phone verification.

What site and category are you trying to post to?

Does anyone know how to configure CLPoster to use proxies delivered from a fixed URL ?

I have a subscription service that supplies fresh proxies every few minutes, but cannot get CLPoster to work with them.

I have the Proxy Addon

I think clposter will be shaky for a while while the "owners" are battling over who has the rights to selling it, and while the lawsuit with cl is going on. Make sure that you have a legitimate copy of it or you may soon find yours not working. I saw on some websites that the non legitimate (bootlegged) copies that were sold by one of the "programmers" and those copies will soon not function.

All the ad posting software will possibly be no longer with the lawsuits from cl.

Can you refer me to a proxy subscription service? I've been trying to find one for a long time. I need always updated lists of U.S. anonymous/elite proxies, non PlanetLab/Codeen. I use them in a personal script so if you refer me to the one you use there will be no conflict with what you use proxies for and what I use them for.

I don't use proxies for cl, emailing, or any type of spamming or anything that could ever cause them to risk being blocked from anywhere. All I use them for is to click on urls. Each is used for about 1 second and I go through a list of them. Totally nonconflicting with anything anyone else would use them for.

yeah most of my proxies force me to have a phone verified account.

yeah, they're viewing posting ads similar to the way they do emailing replies to ads posted, in that with replying to ads they require something similar to non-generic rDNS (reverse DNS) that points to your own domain, and you need a matching A record in your domain. They may require similar type matching data in order to post ads without being required to have phone verification.

Forgive my ignorance. Some body can you watched the relation between proxy type (HTTP,HTTPS) and port no with CL posting without PVA?

I have seen port 80 and 1080 with fresh elite proxy has the best success and certainly HTTPS.

May be I am wrong any suggestion?

Reading all this makes me thankful for my $4/month dialup service. It's slow, but I've never been ghosted.
