Using Skype Number to Verify AC Accounts?

I tried using a VOIP service to get my AC account verified and it didn't work. I bought a phone number and then enabled call forwarding to my cell phone. I figured it might work since the call would just be redirected to my cell. Well.. it didn't. (Sadly...) When I use my own home phone to call the online number, it does exactly what I want and gets forwarded to my mobile.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried this method of verifying AC accounts.

Also, has anyone used a Skype # to get their AC account verified?

BTW, using the Skype service doesn't seem to be worth it since it seems like you have to pay for a 6 month or 12 month number.. And well obviously you don't need it for that long.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes I verified two of my accounts using skype online numbers and they worked perfectly.
Ive heard people all over the world verifying using their home numbers and AC doesnt check if its a US number or not.
I use the Skype service as a business line so thats why it is ok for me.
Other than that, there are some guys here offering to verify for $3/account.
Worth it if you ask me.

I'm glad to hear that Skype worked for you. I haven't tested it out and probably won't since the cost doesn't justify the one-time verification for me.

You mentioned that some members offer to verify for $3 per account.. Although this is kind of going beyond my initial question, if I used my own cell number to verify a new account once a month, from your experience, do you think AC would catch on to that? (I figure AC is using a third party automated phone verification system and so human eyes probably don't actually look at the phone #'s)

Also, with regards to the members who offer to verify accounts, are they verifying the accounts with the same phone number over and over again? If that's what they're doing and it's working, then I don't see much trouble with my 'once a month cell phone verification' idea above.

Well you can use your cell to verify one account at least. Wouldn't try to verify another account with the same cell unless the first account is abandoned.
They might still be checking for duplicate numbers.
As for the other members, not sure what they are doing exactly but Im guessing they are using forwarded numbers.
You also might want to look in Services for PVAs used for Craigslist and contact the service provider. Those guys have it down to a science.

My number is a DID number but I can?t find the way to get that SMS from skype to be able to verify my DID number with them

if there is anyway like that I will really appreciate if you please let me know any way to verify a non mobile number I will pay for that idea i really need it

Hi,

I live in Belgium and have my AC account verified with paypal.
I read in the help section of AC: "If you are not a citizen of legal resident of the United States, you are only eligible for Performance Payments due to U.S. tax regulations."
Is there anyway for me to get passed this and also receive upfront payments? Any tricks, ...?
 
i can help to verify any number of accounts with US phone numbers. Need some urgent cash so charging $1/verification.

dude stop spamming in my DP thread... I sell AC account to those DP guys and I don't want somebody to spam in my thread saying that he can get AC account for 1$... please remove your post or edit it... thanks
