Using Reddit to Build Up A Brand

Reddit readers are fairly intelligent and anytime a site gets on the first page of a big subreddit, or Reddit itself, the traffic pours in. There won't be any SEO in this. Just using primarily Reddit and other social media platforms for traffic. Twitter, FB, etc.

I have already got the site underway and plan on writing the content by hand. This will be the most difficult part - bringing myself to write up new articles every day.

Site is a brand new domain. Standard hosting, etc.

I have never done something like this in IM, so we'll see how it goes. I will be using Reddit Dominator which came from their free giveaway thread.

Not much else really. This won't be a typical journey thread where it's only about money. I plan on taking this site as far as I can. It's a side project.

Building the brand comes first, money second.

Finally getting around to posting onto Reddit, this will be a slow journey. Currently have a post on a subreddit and just letting it naturally get upvoted. No comments on it yet which means I might have to be more provocative. Still learning Reddit Dominator, tough to jump into a new piece of software on day 1 and immediately have it working really good.

Definitely. I have since deleted the post on Reddit as it started to get downvoted. I plan on using Reddit for backlinks rather than making tons of $$.

My rough plan is: post to reddit ---> people share ----> link back on their different sites ---> make a bit of $$$

whats your niche? is it some viral news blog?

If you're building up a brand on reddit, here's what I'd recommend:

• Join any subreddits related to your brand
• Become valuable posters on those subreddits for about 3 months
  • What you want to do is become a part of the community
• After about 3 months, start interspersing posts about your brand with your other content
  • about 1 post about your brand for every 10 posts about other stuff
  • you want to do a VERY soft sell - EXTREMELY SOFT
  • and while you're doing this, ask them for any improvements or suggestions

Basically, you need to build relationships with people using Reddit. You can't just start advertising willy-nilly.

I've done a few projects in the past using purely Reddit traffic (Mainly to test how sustainable it is)
On it's own its not overly stable with a good post from my site getting up-voted to the top of a niche related subreddit the traffic will come in droves but will drop off just as rapidly as it arrives.

Areas you want to look into is retaining the flow of traffic whether this is through a newsletter or pushing them to another social network or using social popups which there are plugins for.

Content is't as hard as you think as most niches have videos around topics you will be writing for, in the past I use to just find a good video on YouTube or other sites then simply write what is happening, how this effects the readers and a conclusion on the topic and this can apply for nearly anything and any niche.

Today I use a combination of Facebook, Reddit, Twitter and Pinterest (If the niche fits) to drive most the social traffic. If the content is good enough the organic traffic will come naturally overtime where you will see new posts hitting the top #10's in google which is when you need to look at monetising things and making the most of the targeted traffic using adsense or other things like native advertising.

Continuing on with trying to write daily articles.

Things I need to do right now:
- Find source for Reddit accounts
- Buy proxies
- Start pushing articles on Reddit

Decided to share my site to one of the subreddits I am targeting last night. Didn't get downvoted to hell, and didn't have anyone reporting me or commenting saying my site was spam. Looks like I have the proper site build in place to make sure the people of Reddit don't get me banned.

Got 30 visitors and I didn't come close to hitting the front page of the subreddit -

Gotta just keep grinding
