The public blog networks with links for sale in the bst section are good for ranking they just carry a greater risk of getting your site penalized by being found out. Would it be a good idea to point these to your own private blog network and use them as tier 2? If the network gets found out does that put your own network at risk?

I think it's quite safe to do. PBNs don't interlink, so I don't think google would think your domains are part of someone's network.

I like this idea. Also like the idea of juicing up T1 PBN's using lower quality PBN's via 301's. So something like a high quality PR0 or PR1 domain with clean links --> T1 PBN site --> Money site.
Paying for hosting for each PBN, and the set up involved, is a bitch. I'm going to start experimenting with simply making my highest quality PBN's stronger instead of continually building PBN sites for infinity and beyond.

Buying those links will get a little expensive don't you think? Much cheaper to utilize the network of networks.
