Hey guys, I've found a strong expired domain (it had expired today), which was previously used by some non-profit organization. Then it had been 301 redirected to a new domain for approx 1 year. Now the question is, is it worth buying and what to do with it? It doesn't cost much, cause it's available for state's residents only. Domain stats are: Opensiteexplorer: DA=37, PA=38, PR=5, MozTrust 5.01 MajesticSeo: External Backlinks 104K, Referring Domains 390, Citation Flow 28, Trust Flow 23 Ahrefs: Domain Rank 48, Backlinks 95K Link profile: 1. 20-30 PR2-5 links with naked URL or brand-keyword from governmental, non-profit and educational organizations 2. PR0 links from niche-related blogposts, forums etc 3. a lot of spam links with porn anchors, which seemingly did not affect the domain (at least, there was no animal-penalty applied) My idea is to re-register it, remove redirection and build a website of the same niche. After I can use it for promoting local businesses operating in the same niche and/or boosting their websites. My concern is that 301 redirect seemingly "sticks" with a domain. I had previously redirected one domain to another. The oldest domain has been deleted 3 years ago but GWT still shows it's backlinks as new domain's backlinks. So, how do you think, is it possible to reuse previously redirected domain without drastically losing it's authority?
