This will certainly not apply to all but those of us that do offer a tangible product can take advantage of a press release to make some fast cash and pick up a quality authority link in the process. You have to be a little sneaky and you certainly want to get your PR in Google News so it gets seen and gives you visits.

The process is rather simple but works very well and worked real well for me over the past couple of days as I have some eBay products I sell.

You want to write, or have written a nice press release on the company with whom you are working... whether it is Apple, Sony, etc. or even the site that you have an affiliate relationship with works. The press release needs to be as neutral as possible and talk about something Holiday or Christmas related and something that the company itself is not putting out too. You do not want to compete with the big boys if you do not have to in your press release efforts.

So, let's say you are selling PS4s on Amazon for instance (not my deal, nothing I do and not even sure it is a good niche as I've not looked at it and I think Amazon frowns on this actually from what I read) and want to get exposure to your particular product or product page.

Your press release could be something along the lines of how Amazon has an increase in electronics sales due to the pricing of it's products as it has many vendors competing against one another on it's site. In the PR you talk about Amazon as a shopping mecca, discuss how the navigation is user friendly and how good deals abound there. Also, you link to the item/product page you have there to sell your particular item(s) as part of the deal and as an example of the offers they have.

You want this PR to look very official so be sure to include something along the lines of this at the bottom:

    About Sears, Roebuck and Co.
Sears, Roebuck and Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sears Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: SHLD), is a leading integrated retailer providing merchandise and related services and is part of Shop Your Way, a social shopping experience where members have the ability to earn points and receive benefits across a wide variety of physical and digital formats through domain.com. Sears, Roebuck offers its wide range of home merchandise, apparel and automotive products and services through Sears-branded and affiliated full-line and specialty retail stores in the United States. Sears, Roebuck also offers a variety of merchandise and services through sears.com, landsend.com and specialty catalogs. Sears, Roebuck offers consumers leading proprietary brands including Kenmore, Craftsman, and DieHard -- among the most trusted and preferred brands in the U.S. The company is the nation's largest provider of home services, with more than 14 million service and installation calls made annually. For more information, visit the Sears, Roebuck website at www.sears.com or the Sears Holdings Corporation website at www.searsholdings.com.

See the link I have in the above, it would take the reader to your product or sales page on the site you are writing about (in this case your Amazon page).

A minor amount of KW stuffing is fine but don't be a dog about it and make it look like something from 2001 and include an image as well.

Be sure to write the press release in a way that does not make it look like you are trying to sell your product... it may not get accepted. Don't spam the thing all up like a 5 year old wrote it either... make it a professional looking press release about the firm and slip in your KWs without stuffing. It took me over an hour to write the one I used and I can usually write something in 10 minutes so take your time if you are writing it yourself.

Like I mentioned above, I used eBay as I have a boatload of products I bought to sell for Christmas and it did very well for me and I'm going to repeat the process again next week. You may have your own site selling stuff; twist the PR to talk about the manufacturer of your products, or a big manufacturer of that product line... take advantage of the big names to sell for you in this process.

This can work for you if you do it right but you can't do a half a job and expect it to work for you... a quality PR is essential.

Thanks for the great tip! Use it to grab my share of the holiday spenders.

Could you quickly elaborate on the distribution side of this? Like what PR services/sites do you recommend?
