Using pop ups to lower conversion

Hi, in order to lower my conversion rates I need to use some junk traffic. As I have read in various threads, most people seem to use findology or other cheap hit sites like that.

My question is, why not just use a pop up or pop under with a double meta refreshed link on our own sites that have traffic? Isn't that what findology does? I'm sure there must a be a big concept I'm missing or else everyone would do that.
