So I'm all signed up with a bunch of CJ ads. I'm particular about the look and placement of my ads, so I want to resize a bunch of their ads to fit in my design. (since most are GIFs, they'll look like hell if I just resize them on the fly.)

Does CJ have a problem with this? Because I'm not pulling the graphic off of their server, are they losing the tracking aspect? I know with text ads, you are getting a tracking pixel inserted.

Am I screwing myself by doing this? I've got the proper affiliate link in my resized ads, but the graphic comes from my server.

i think providing you have the 1px tracking gif and correct hyperlink in place you should be fine... your better off trying to contact your AM though and asking... would be bad to loose a lot of commission!

Wit the text links I have the embedded tracking pixel, but with graphic ads, it seems that the graphic itself is the tracking pixel.

Which brings up the question, if I DIDN'T have that tracking pixel in my text links, I would be screwing myself? (Even though my affiliate info is embedded in the link for the graphic.)

You'll have to check with each affiliate sponsor, as they have their own rules about what you can and can't do with the links/ads/banners/.

Here's the rule straight from CJ Help section:

    Modify Link Code
You may modify the following link code on the Get HTML and Get JavaScript interfaces using the available features.

Destination URL:Enables you to change the Destination URL within an advertiser's link code in order to increase conversions. Advertisers provide publishers with permission to change the Destination URL on a per-link basis.

Banner Image URL:Enables you to customize a banner's image to better suit your Web site(s). Advertisers provide publishers with permission to change the image URL on a per-link basis.

Add SID: Enables you to add the Shopper ID (SID) to an advertiser's link code.

Hyperlink Placement in Text Link: Enables you to modify the placement of the hyperlink in a text link (JavaScript links only). The Text Hyperlink text field displays with the Advertiser's designated Program URL by default, unless the advertiser has not assigned it, in which case the text field appears blank.

    ;)
