Well i am starting a football news site, and i was wondering if i will run into any trouble if i use images of the players on the site.

Thanks

Any image that is not yours has copyrights. If you photograph the players in public places, there is no trouble. If you use someone else's photo of players in public place, that's copyright infringement.
Not sure but i think you can use photos with a caption or a link to give credit to the author.

Of course these pictures are copyrighted. Someone shot those, right?
You need to ask the photographer for a license.

Depending on where you live it might be worth to risk posting them without permission.
I wouldn't do this if you're from Germany though.

Just post them on your site and don't worry. In the extremely rare instance that someone complains, just take the photo down and swap it for another photo.

Ignore what people have said about giving credit. That is just nonsense. It is still copyright infringement, unless the owner has agreed it can be shown. And if you do find some precious little photographer who does like to google his own name looking for use of his work, you are making it damn easy for him or her to find you.

just crack on, it is unlikely anyone will chase you
