    Hi,

I'm thinking to buy an expired domain for my money site, so I don't start from zero. I have used the search but as I have noticed, people use these domains only for SEO purposes, link juice etc.

    Please advise

It depends on the domain's history, old content and existing backlinks. No problem to use one as a money site.

I have done that with good success. Have to make sure though the previous domain doesn't have crappy links going to it though. Last thing you want is a penalized domain.

Thanks for the answers. I have found some interesting domains and I'll surely check if there is bad links pointing to the site. However, would negatively affect the previous niche of the site, For example, the site has been about games and I buy it and write about PlayStation (something slightly different).. does that matter? Thanks for help .

You would not fully benefit from the existing links if the niche was different.

So what's you problem? Just check its backlinks profile, and if the links are relevant to your niche - you are good to go.

If you find a good domain that doesn't have hurtful backlinks (i.e. over-optimized exact match anchor text), use it, even if it doesn't fit exactly what you're looking to do. You'll get some anchor text diversity from it early on, which is always important.
