Use my home IP while away (Hamachi alternative)?

I need to be able to use my home internet/IP address while away from home. I have a computer at home and a computer with me. I need to use my home internet/IP address on the computer I have with me, through a browser such as Firefox.

I was using Hamachi and Privoxy, but it stopped working because Hamachi was only a trial and doesn't offer a free version. I got the solution for Hamachi and Privoxy here - https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/p...dress-through-router-from-a-distance.1349991/

I looked for Hamachi alternatives, I tried a few things, I googled different things, but I can't figure it out. I guess it's a matter of creating a proxy server or a VPN server at my home computer, and then connecting to it with the computer I have with me. But it's beyond me how to accomplish.

Can anyone help?

Following for the tutorial on how to set this up. I'm also frequently away from home, generally use RDP to access but this is problematic because I have to ask a friend to switch on the laptop at home everytime.

I don't know what RDP is, but Anydesk works very well for connecting and using another computer proper.

And if you just want to use the IP address, then Privoxy with Hamachi or with Radmin-vpn works (see link above)

However, in both cases you need the home computer to be switched on, so you still can't avoid your friend turning on the lap top. Maybe there's a way to get a router with a VPN built in or something, but I wouldn't know anything about that

I do not know what I'm doing. I just bang my head against the wall until it breaks through. Works 95% of the time
