This is officially my first post, I have been an avid reader of BHW for 3 years and I believe I finally have something I feel is worth contributing. This is a new on going tactic I plan to execute and I will be updating this post as my idea/plan progresses. Please feel free to add your input, it currently is an idea, but I will be launching it in the next 10 days and I have all the steps in order except the final and would highly value your feedback.

(I am strictly E-commerce) however I believe this tactic will definitely work for affiliates etc., its more the specific niche and the other sites ranking within it than anything else. My niche happens to be the type that there is a serious blogging community/ following. The biggest terms in the niche are actual company names followed by a product name e.g Ford Mufflers. With that being said the best ranking positions are blogs...doing reviews on thus said products...
Knowing my site will never have a chance to rank "safely" ( I have a very low risk tolerance) for these keywords I decided to go about it in a roundabout way.

    • Direct keywords for my niche are roughly 20k a month local search volume
    • Company keywords are around 500k+ a month ( e.g ford mufflers)

I have spent the last 6 months creating a Brand name (I will write a post about this at a later date if anyone wants) for my product and its getting a decent search volume and already has developed a reasonable following. From these honest reviews my product seems to be the best on the market.

    The Plan

Since I have established a decent (known) brand name and have a plethora of positive online reviews. ( No Paid Reviews) I plan to send my product along with my competitors products for a review and comparison to several of these high ranking blogs. Once they bite and write the reviews I plan to optimize that specific review page to replace the page that is already ranking for them. Since it will have a similar title and keyword density I don't think it will be that difficult (my only concern is keyword cannibalization by the first blog post). With that being said I don't want to get these specific blogs penalized. I will start with one blog and if this works continue one by one.

    Potential Plan
(SEO tactics not set in stone)

    • Small burst of web 2.0s
    • Twitter tweets and re-tweets
    • face book likes
    • g+'s
    • 2 or 3 syndicated press releases probably webwire and prweb announcing a comparison. ( I have had amazing results with this in brand building)

The reason I chose the plan above is to make it seem like a natural occurance on the blog. If a new review gets more attention than the old one then google should replace it right?

I don't think it will take much more than this because the niche isn't competitive because of the nature of the beast. However I will share the rest of the details as them come through.

Please add any suggestions. If anyone else has used a tactic like this please feel free to PM me or add their feedback. I will gladly share the results.
