This isn't exactly a method but I would be interested to know if anyone has taken advantage of the new laws of no online gambling in the US? I mean how hard would it be to setup an offshore host with some kind of poker script and get say 100 people to join a $50 or $100 tournament for a 15% fee and make an easy $1000? I know a ton of people are still trying to bypass poker sites to play from the US. You can start off small get a user base and do it more on a personal level kind of like underground poker rooms. Let me know your thoughts and if anyone would possibly be interested in doing anything like this.

There are offshore payment processors as well as high risk payment processors. Remember at one time gambling sites were accepting credit cards. I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried something like this..

For starters running your own online poker tournament would be a serious pain in the arse to setup and not just a case of 'finding a script'
secondly you will be required to have a gambling licence in the country you are based in, whether your servers are based ofshore or not, to run a tournament without one could have serious repercussions including massive fines and jail time.
    3rdly how would you send/receive funds from 50 - 100 players.

Apart from that, good idea :p

I never said it would be an easy task lol.. I am from NY and I don't think any of the underground poker rooms would have a gambling license. I am not talking about a public web site here, more of just a script with an invite after payment is received with login info. It would be mainly offline advertisement along with maybe social media and posting services to get interested people obviously if you had a public web site you would get into some serious trouble. Maybe the best bet would be for it to be registered to someone out of the country who could care less about US laws.

I find it hilarious how people think you can just get a "script" for an online poker site. Mechanical random number generators cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Also, you have to have your RNG certified, which is fairly expensive itself. You would need like $500,000 minimum for just a small setup.

    Yeh,
I personally would stay away everything that's obviously "underground". If you seriously want to play poker at teh interwebs, you will find a friend from EU or an "agent" who lends you his/her account at reputable sites and sends you payments for a small fee.
I've been playing 6 years, 5 years as a pro, and I'm kind of fed up what has happened to this business (and I'm from EU). Prolly that's the reason why I'm lurking around blackhatworld :)

Yeah their are definitely a few ways to think outside the box with prizes.

As for $500,000 minimum startup is maybe if you did everything custom. Just search google for scripts, I did a few searches and found http://www.onecybertech.com/services/business-analysis.html and http://www.casinoseller.com/start-casino.html you can probably find someone who will offer a sublease for a fraction of the cost. Again, this is just an idea I never said it would be something easily done.
