So, I joined upwork and sent a few freelancers messages about writing a few review-type articles. They removed all three of my messages and emailed me. I replied back and asked them why. This was the amusing response I got back:

"I realize how important it is for you to know why your job post was removed. Let me explain the reason behind this.Hiring freelancers to post reviews for any website is not allowed on Upwork because this is considered a deceptive marketing technique specially if the reviews are for products posted on sites like Amazon."

Naturally, I replied and told them they can't spell and have faulty logic.
I hired a freelancer the same day from Fiverr and I'm very happy. Just thought I'd share what they wrote...

That surely is a dumbest reason.
But I assume you should recheck you job Listing as it might have some words that upwork cant tolerate.

    Cheers

Upwork are probably a bit nervous of Amazon's lawyers getting in touch with them concerning such 'review' articles

I had a similar experience recently. I had a project posting for 1-2 days before it was simply removed because it was 'requesting freelancers to write reviews'.

However, this was for review-like articles in an aff website and not product reviews in amazon...

Ah, Upwork...They took a great site (Elance) for both freelancers and clients, turned it off and created Upwork, site that looks like a $56 wordpress template.

Apologies if in the wrong section. I thought it'd be of interest to people looking for freelancers and freelancing services.

The funny thing is, I didn't make the project public either. It was just an invitation to a few freelancers. I stated it was for my own website and not Amazon. Throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Still, I got my freelancer elsewhere and they don't get a cut....

As for me Upwork became much better than Elance was (probably because it was made on the basis of odesk)
