Don't post uploadjockey links, don't suggest it in crappy e-books. The pages have viruses in the ads. I'm gonna punch a baby next time this happens.

That site is a joke - their database got hacked not so long back and all members got an email from the people who did it!

Its also slow as buggery!

Neverheard of that file host until your post...thanks for the warning.

I believe so. The owner is posting here, I just forgot what his username is.

Bump...It's still like this. That site crashes my browser. I suggest banning the whole domain. After my browser crashed 10 minutes ago, my anti-virus popped up and asked me what I wanted to do with the trojan that was being installed.

Yeah the same happened to me some time ago. That was the LAST time I will ever use that scummy swamp of a service.

hey.... thanks for all the appreciation for me ex site...

well i sold it to a poor guy for such a high price that he has to do all this stuff so that he can get his money back..

he is trying everything... i dont blame him though.... some side effects of black hatting ;)

n i sold it in sep last year so dont kill me next time u see a link out there... its still the best paying in the industry though! :)

Wasn't Upload Jockey the one I recently saw being advertised to make money off of when you send people to it?

he obviously does not knw the difference between completed downloads n hits!

n m completely out of the warez scene... there is just not enough money to make in it...! i had hit a glass sealing!

By the way a little update from last night's post. About 5 minutes after I posted that the shit that site installed turned off my security center, it was trying to force me to visit some sites and after a few minutes it didn't let me do anything on my computer. After a couple of reboots I decided it was safe mode time since I couldn't get my anti-virus to run. So far my computer has been running the anti-virus, anti-spyware for almost 8 hours and it's found some nasty shit on there. I'm surprised my firewall didn't stop that stuff. Hopefully my normal computer will be back up and running later today.

Never visit that site.

Sorry to hear about getting the virus, if I were you I would just reformat your computer there are just too many nasty things floating around. In my mind if people don't have a problem doing drive by installs they also don't have problems stealing CC numbers/ftp accounts/license keys for software etc.. Most AV's will not even pick up the really nasty stuff for a week or more.

Btw what browser were you using when you went there?

I can remember when I used to use windows, all that time spent debating which is the best anti-virus, best browser, firewalls, yada yada...

Honestly, I think if you wanna do IM full time, or web work in general, Mac is the way to go, with a copy of parallels or VMware for testing, and a spare windows machine for grunt work. That way if anything falls over you can just reformat and lose nothing.

Hope your machine gets better :)

I've visited uploadjockey before and noticed the funny shit going on, I was able to escape when I noticed funny shit going on and closing the browser quickly. This time I wasn't lucky like the past.

My main computer which has a shit load of paid-for programs installed was hit hard. It was pretty much down for the last two days to fix this problem. I've been able to do some work (although limited since I was missing tons of programs I use), but it's handy having several extra computers at your disposal and the only thing I was affected on was for programs I actually paid for and haven't installed them on my other boxes. I do have backups, but it would be a bitch to use because I'd have to open up the computer and buy a new hard drive to install them on (and I'd probably miss something since I do different shit each day and sometimes I buy new programs daily).

...if I were you I would just reformat your computer...Btw what browser were you using when you went there?

I was trying to do everything but formatting. It was worth 2 days of my time to get rid of this. If I would have formatted it would have taken me a long time to get back to normal. I've never had to format I've always been able to fix my problems. The worse thing that has ever happened was a hard drive failed and I didn't have a backup. I did have a back up hard drive to install and add Windows to though, but I had to start over on the installed programs.

I was using Firefox and this thing hit my Firefox and I checked Internet Explorer and it was pounding it also. It didn't do anything to Safari though. I have Chrome but didn't even test it (it probably wouldn't have done anything there either).

The best thing you can do on any computer is have multiple web browsers. Some spyware and viruses hit certain browsers and doesn't touch others.

Mac and any Linux flavor you can think of doesn't have the programs I use and enjoy using. It doesn't even have programs that can do anything similar. We're in a Windows world and I don't want to dual boot or do anything fancy I'd prefer to fight it out with my Windows installs and fix my issues. I have multiple computers at my disposal at all times so worse case scenario I start from scratch with another computer and contact all the companies I have licenses with and tell them to re-activate me. I do keep backups, but I'll be damned if I even know how to use them. I guess the only way to find out is having an all out hardware failure.

By the way after trying multiple anti-spyware programs (the big one's everyone knows about) and multiple anti-virus programs (the big one's everyone knows about) and running the computer non-stop for two days. I fixed the computer in 10 minutes.

The thing I hate most is a post about a problem and then they say I fixed it and they give no answer. So I'll give my answer. I ran the free trial version of this program http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and ran it on the quick scan that took about 6 1/2 minutes on my computer and a reboot later I was good. I couldn't believe it after running my computer for hours running all kinds of programs this thing killed the problem quickly. I even tried to delete the trojans manually and it didn't work. This is part of my new computer cleaning arsenal.

I've also changed from ZoneAlarm firewall to PCTools Firewall Plus (freeware) and so far it looks good.

My computer is clean at least. You guys should seriously consider banning that fucked up domain.

Just to make it easy go to the Admin Panel > VBulletin Options > Censorship Options > Censorship Enabled click Yes > Censored Words > uploadjockey > Save. There might be another way to do it, but that's the way I've always done it and of course some smart guy will always separate the words and figure their way around the censorship, but it's a good quick fix.
