Update me please - what software + guidelines?

I've not been involved for about 4 years so I'm well out of date and I'm hopping to get up to speed again asap.
I have the following full version Software.

Market Samurai
Scrapebox.
I lost my copy of IBP so I'm looking for a recommend on an Up To Date site analysis tool and thinking of up to date are the other programmes still good?

Link building, I notice that a lot of out of date advice is still around, link wheels, pyramids and such, were can I find out what is currently working best?
